For the old version, the child will follow the player if they see. However, the area of pawn sensing is very large. Therefore, many children will follow you suddenly even though you do not see them. There is mist in the forest. It is difficult to see where the children are. Therefore, the children also should not see the player easily and follow.
To improve the judgment, I added a “is follow” boolean to let the player get close to the baby slime. Then, they will follow you by using the pawn sensing. When you are out of the baby slime’s senses. They will stop and wait for help.
Baby slimes also will follow the human version because I think babies will easily follow everyone.
When they see their baby sister Marlie, they will walk near Marlie and will not follow the player again.
However, the dialogue of Marlie will not change even though the player finds all the baby slimes (there are 5 in the forest). Marlie will still tell you“Babies went to forest and did not come back for a long time.” It means the lost babies are not only 5. Some of them have already disappeared.
I will not tell the story obviously. Therefore, may only me understand the meaning of some dialogues. I think letting the player imagine the story of slime’s world may be more interesting if they are interested.
